The Stamford Dog Show is now in it’s 12th year and is one of the biggest family events in the town. The show is run under the banner of the Stamford Trinity Methodist Church and is jointly organised with the Church, Stamford Veterinary Centre and Pets Korner.

The show centres around the judging of the Pedigree and Novelty Classes and dogs can enter for £2 per class. The first four places in each class will win a rosette and prizes to third place. The Agility Ring is also very popular and a lot of fun to watch – you can even have a go yourself!

There will also be displays by Malamutes and Huskies and Empingham Agility and a chance to talk a dog behavioural specialist and try out some tips and tricks. Throughout the day there will be many different stalls selling all sorts of goodies both for dogs and their owners and the popular alpacas will be back. If you dare to enter the reptile tent you will find many unusual creatures on display with experts on hand to tell you more about them and, if you are brave enough, you may be able to handle some of them.

This is very much a family event and children can be entertained by the dogs or on fairground rides, the land train or at the childrens’ activity tent. There will be plenty of choice for food stalls for your lunch and other refreshments.
